ABOUT JUSTIN

Justin Russ is a Strength and Conditioning Coach with over 10 years experience working with athletes of all levels.

A native of Buffalo, New York, he is currently coaching privately on the ATP Tour, and served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Virginia prior.

While at UVA, Russ was responsible for the design and implementation of sport-specific strength, speed, and movement programs for UVA Men’s & Women’s Tennis and Squash. UVA Tennis experienced great success during his tenure, with Men’s Tennis capturing back to back NCAA National Championships in 2022 & 2023 and ACC regular season and tournament titles from 2021-2023.

Prior to arriving at UVA, Russ coached privately, working with professional tennis athletes on the ATP & WTA Tours, and was the Head of Tennis Performance at the renowned IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida from 2015-2018.

Throughout his career, Justin has worked with top-5 and top-10 tennis players, Olympic Gold Medalists, Grand Slam Champions, Junior Grand Slam Champions, NCAA National Champions, #1 ranked junior tennis players, and numerous NCAA Division 1 athletes of all sports.

OTHER AREAS OF EXPERTISE

Justin has also served as a Master Instructor & Presenter for TRX Training since 2012. He has delivered over 150 live & virtual education courses in eight countries, and has presented at a variety of industry conferences.

Russ holds certifications through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS & RSCC), USA Weightlifting (Advanced Sports Performance Coach), USA Track and Field (Level 1), International Tennis Performance Association (Master Tennis Performance Specialist), National Academy of Sports Medicine, Functional Movement Screen (Level 1), and Stick Mobility.
