TESTIMONIALS

MICHAEL MMOH

Five-time ATP Challenger title winner

I have worked with Justin Russ for over 2 years at IMG academy and as a pro tennis player myself I couldn’t recommend him enough to train professional or amateur athletes, especially tennis players.

He has many great qualities for a strength coach but his biggest one I would say is his work ethic and passion. He will invest all he has for the athlete. Prior to working with Justin, I was injured a lot during the course of the season and often struggled physically in tough matches. He has great knowledge of how to train an athlete and get them to reach their maximum potential physically.

I was really happy with the results I had working with him, really feel like a complete athlete after the time working with Justin.

WHITNEY OSUIGWE

2017 WTA Girls French Open champion

I worked with Justin for about two years and during that time he showed tremendous positivity and professionalism. When I started with Justin I was outside of the top 100 in juniors. A couple months later I became the 2017 Girls French Open champion.

While being with him I proceeded to be the 2017 World Champion and finished the year as the world number 1. I saw results on the pro tour as well. I went from not having a ranking to now being 353. Working with Justin helped me a lot. He got me stronger while improving my movement as well. I got stronger and quicker with no injuries.

Justin motivated me to be the best I could be in all areas of my life. He is an amazing coach and more importantly an all-around great person that could get along with anybody.

MIOMIR KECMANOVIC

2019 ATP Brisbane International champion

I worked with Justin from 2015-2018 at the IMG academy, where he was the fitness coach for all the tennis pros there. I loved working with him and he helped me a lot through that period when I became the world junior champion, and won my first challenger title after that.

He was always finding ways to improve himself and to find different things for me to improve, whether it was on the court, in the gym or on the track.

Very committed and professional person, easy to talk to. Definitely someone who will give their best every day to make the player succeed. Would highly recommend for you to give him the opportunity to show you why he is one of the best coaches around.

MARIJN BAL

Account Executive, IMG Tennis

I have known Justin for the past 4 years, primarily through his employment at IMG Academy, where he was in charge of the Strength and Conditioning plans and programs for all of our top tennis clients, both touring professionals and top ranked juniors in the world.

Justin’s dedication, passion, and tireless work ethic made him a go-to for all of the players he worked with. He paid attention to every detail for each of the players he worked with, and especially during the time he travelled with them, made sure they were in perfect shape and prepared to play.

I can personally recommend Justin…and can assure you he will bring the passion, energy, and dedication he has shown here with him.

ROBBIE OHASHI

President/Physical Therapist/Performance Coach, Performance in Motion

For the past 3 years, I have enjoyed building a strong working relationship with Justin during my numerous trips to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, while serving as the head Physio/Performance Coach for ATP player and current world No. 12, Kei Nishikori.

I vividly recallhow initially impressed I was with Justin observing his work as the head tennis Performance Coach at the Academy. His clear command of his training sessions, the consistent, positive energy he brought to those around him, and the rapport he was able to build with the wide range of athletes he worked with each day truly stood out to me. I admired his work ethic, his commitment to his athletes, and the infectious passion he used to influence those around him.

Over the past few years, it has been a pleasure to work close with Justin through collaborating, brainstorming, and taking a team approach in providing Kei the performance training support he needed to thrive on the tour. Justin’s willingness to collaborate with our team, learn the approach we were taking with Kei, and adapt to this new challenge allowed for a seamless transition. And Kei reaped the benefits of Justin’s support, coming back from a season ending injury in 2017 (and dropping from world No. 4 to No 39) to having a solid 2018 season and on the path back to the top 10.

Simply put, Justin is the type of Performance Coach I would want as part of my team and to represent my profession at the highest level. From didactic settings with TRX and Me Fit Pro to one-on-one settings with athletes of all ages and abilities the IMG Academy, his natural gifts to clearly communicate and teach truly sets him apart.
